Technology in the classroom

In classes I have personally not had to many were technology is a huge factor.  In some of my classes the teacher has used pandora slide shows and basic internet websites.  The only time any of my classes have used technology greatly is informations classes like this one.  This year though a teacher used skype so we could hold a class while he was away on business.  I did not like it because I prefer to actually interact with teacher instead of listen to him read of a slide.  Since slides have been introduced and whenever they are used in one of my classes I have it seems to me that teachers just read off there slides and theres no point of showing up.

I rarely use technology for studying.  When I study I rely on the notes I took for class and the text book.  If I do not exactly understand something or the definition I normally go to the internet which I am greatful for because it makes things a lot easier.

Personally, I dispise technology in a classroom because I think some teachers rely on it too much and do not try to elaborate or give their own examples.  It seems that they just take exactly what is in the text book and but it on the slide.  Also, some text books since they are all on line now have their own slides that teachers can use.

The video I have is advertising for this website called Salesforce.  But, the video talks and shows how technology is used to help make it easier for accountants to work and create financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, etc.  It also mentions how this website makes it easier for the customer to see there statements and net income.  To sum it up technology is a game changer for accounting.

One of my favorite hobbies is surfing.  Not only do I like to surf but I also like to keep tabs on what competitions are going on or if there is a hurricane coming soon.  To keep up with this stuff I like to use the website http://www.surfline.com/home/index.cfm.  It has everything you need to follow the world of surfing.

Who Jake Is

My name is Jake Perry.  I am currently a sophomore.  I am originally from West Deptford, New Jersey and lived there through my first eighteen years of life.  Once I was done with high school I moved to Ocean City, New Jersey.  When I am there I just like to surf and hang out on the beach.  At Salisbury University I play for the men's soccer team.  I do have a jersey accent and personality but I am proud of that.  I am taking this class because I need it to apply to the Purdue Business School.  But, I also hope to become more accustomed to Word, Excel and power points because I rarely use them.
